The meeting will take place in the James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) of the University of Edinburgh. This is within the Kings Buildings Complex to the south of Edinburgh City Centre. The talks will take place in Lecture Theatre B on level 3. There are also break-out rooms and email facilities on level 5. The maps available here indicate the location of Kings Buildings and JCMB. We have reserved accommodation in Pollock Halls, a student residence near the centre of Edinburgh. Rooms are available from the evening of Tuesday 16 September to the morning of Saturday 20 September. If you wish to book Pollock Halls accommodation, you are advised to register early as rooms will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Meals and refreshments
Lunch and refreshments will be provided at JCMB for the three full days of the meeting.
No evening meals have been included, but an (optional) conference dinner will take place on Wednesday 17 September and will cost around £25. Click here for the menu in .pdf format (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
Registration will take place from 0930 to 1030 at JCMB on 17 September.
(Participants will incur costs under (a), (b) or (c) and optionally under (d).)
(a) Residential Fee for the whole 3-day meeting
The cost is £150 and includes: Registration, Bed and breakfast in Pollock Halls in a single student room with shared bathroom from the night of Tuesday 16 September to the morning of Saturday 20 September; refreshments and lunch on all three days. (Some rooms with ensuite facilities (private bathrooms) may be available, in which case the total cost will be £210.)
(b) Non-Residential Fee for the whole 3-day meeting
The cost is £55 and includes registration and refreshments and lunch on all three days.
(c) Scottish Computational Mathematics Symposium day only (Wednesday 17 Sept)
The fee for this one-day meeting is £20 and includes refreshments and a buffet lunch. Accommodation cannot be booked through ICMS for those attending the SCMS day only. Anyone needing accommodation is advised to book directly with Pollock Halls.
(d) Conference Dinner (Wednesday 17 Sept)
Open to all participants (SCMS and 3-day meeting). Estimated cost is £25.
Financial support (from EPSRC and LMS) is available for participants based at UK Higher Educational institutions. Anyone wanting to apply for support should complete Section 4 of the registration form. The Organisers will make the awards in July, after the close of Registration. Each award will take the form of covering the local costs in either (a) or (b) above. (NOW CLOSED)
The organisers may waive the costs of (c)(SCMS day - £20) in the case of UK postgraduate students.
Registration for the full meeting is now closed: for those wishing to come to only the SCMS one-day meeting, the deadline is 5 September.
