This is within the Kings Buildings Complex to the south of Edinburgh City Centre. The talks will take place in Lecture Theatre B on level 3. There are also break-out rooms and email facilities on level 5. The maps available here indicate the location of Kings Buildings and JCMB. Accommodation We have reserved accommodation in Pollock Halls, a student residence near the centre of Edinburgh. Rooms are available from the evening of Sunday 30 March to the morning of Saturday 5 April, but several rooms have also been reserved for the night of Saturday 6 April to enable participants to minimise their travel costs. If you wish to book Pollock Hall accommodation, you are advised to Register early as rooms will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. Meals and refreshments Lunch and refreshments will be provided at JCMB for the five full days of the meeting. Evening meals have been booked at Pollock Halls (for those reserving accommodation) for the evenings of Monday 31, Tuesday 1, Wednesday 2 and Friday 4 April. A combined Buffet and Registration is planned at Pollock Halls on the evening of arrival (Sunday 30 March) to which all participants are invited. The (optional) conference dinner will take place on Thursday 3 April and will cost around £25. FINANCIAL MATTERS Invited speakers will have the majority of their local costs covered by the EPSRC grant and will have their travel costs reimbursed wherever needed. All other participants will incur costs under 1 & 2 (3 is optional). 1. Registration Fee: £30 (academics), £200 (non-academics) 2. Workshop Costs (provisional, will be confirmed after September 2002) (a) Non-residential fee: £55, including the cost of lunches, refreshments and the Registration Buffet on the night of Sunday 30 March (b) Standard single room: £230, bed and breakfast at Pollock Halls from the night of Sunday 30 March to the morning of Saturday 5 April, lunches, refreshments, Registration Buffet on the night of Sunday 30 March, evening meals on Monday to Wednesday and Friday. (Cost of additional bed and breakfast only for the night of Saturday 5 April is around £25.) (c) Single room with private bathroom: £315, bed and breakfast at Pollock Halls from the night of Sunday 30 March to the morning of Saturday 5 April, Registration Buffet on the night of Sunday 30 March, evening meals on Monday to Wednesday and Friday. (Cost of additional bed and breakfast only for the night of Saturday 5 April is around £38.) 3. Conference Dinner (optional) - Thursday 3 April: £25 Financial Support Limited financial support (covering a proportion of the Workshop Costs itemised immediately above) will be available.
