A Workshop on the Moonshine Conjectures and Vertex Algebras

The Workshop will be held at Heriot-Watt University at the Riccarton campus on the western fringes of Edinburgh. See http://www.hw.ac.uk/welcome/ for information about the campus and how to get there.
Accommodation has not been arranged for participants. Rooms at Heriot-Watt University may be booked directly. See http://www.eccscotland.com/webpages/index_accommodation.htm for further details. Should participants wish to stay in central Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University has a regular bus service from the centre (about 30 minutes). A list of central Edinburgh accommodation of various sorts and prices can be found here. You will probably need to arrange accommodation from the evening of 4 July up to and including the evening of 13 July.
Meals and Refreshments
Lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided at the venue on week-days.
There will be a combined Registration and Welcome Buffet held in the College Lounge of Heriot-Watt University on the evening of Sunday 4 July. Those not able to attend the Buffet may Register on arrival.
Participation and Fees
Registrations are now invited. (See here for an online form) Registration will close on 1 June or when capacity is reached.
The Registration Fee is £245. The Fee covers lunch and refreshments for the 7 days of the workshop, the conference dinner and materials. This should be paid by 15 June 2004 in order to secure a place. In the event of cancellation after 15 June only 50% of the Fee will be returned. (If both payment and cancellation take place before 15 June 80% of the Fee will be returned.)
Payment of the Fee may be made by cheque or credit card (See here for further instructions). Payment by direct bank transfer is sometimes possible. If this is the only convenient method of payment, please contact ICMS directly. (email@example.com)
(a) Part of the grant from EPSRC is earmarked to support PhD students from the UK. The grant should be applied for via the Registration form. The award will reduce the Registration Fee to £45 and will reimburse (against receipts) the student for up to £200 of accommodation, subsistence or travel.
(b) ICMS has a grant from the LMS to support the attendance of participants from UK mathematical science departments. This grant, which reduces the Registration Fee to £45, should be applied for via the Registration form.
Early Registration is encouraged as the grants will be start to be allocated in early May, prior to the close of Registration.
