Workshop Arrangements


Venue
The Workshop will be held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE), 22 George St EH2 2PQ. (See http://www.royalsoced.org.uk/map/index.htm for directions.) On arrival at the RSE ask to be directed to the Wellcome Room West, which will be open from 8.30am.

Accommodation
Participants are free to make their own arrangements. The Royal Society of Edinburgh has a very central location and is within a minute's walk of many bus routes. A list of Edinburgh accommodation of various sorts is available here. All hotels and guest houses in sections 1 to 4 are either within walking distance or on a bus route. If you need advice, or would prefer that we arrange your accommodation, please contact enquiries@icms.org.uk. Please make your arrangements as early as possible. Edinburgh will be very busy the week before Easter.

Meals and Refreshments
Morning and evening refreshments are provided at the RSE. Lunch is not provided. There will be a reception on the evening of Monday 21 March and a Workshop Dinner on Tuesday 22 March. There will be no additional charge for either event.

Participation and Fees
Registrations are now invited. (See here for an online form) Registration will close on 7 February or when capacity is reached. The Registration Fee is £35 and may be paid by cash or cheque on arrival at the meeting.

Financial Support
(a) Part of the grant from the LMS is earmarked to support PhD students from the UK. The grant should be applied for via the Registration form. The award will reimburse (against receipts) the student for up to £200 of accommodation, subsistence or travel. The Registration Fee of £35 remains payable.

(b) ICMS has another grant from the LMS to support the attendance of participants from UK mathematical science departments. The grant should be applied for via the Registration form. The award will reimburse (against receipts) the participant for up to £200 of accommodation, subsistence or travel. The Registration Fee of £35 remains payable.

(c) Anyone who is a member of the Leverhulme Trust Theoretical Neuroscience Network may apply to the trust for expenses incurred in attending the meeting. Please contact the co-ordinator, Dr John Terry, directly. (J.R.Terry@lboro.ac.uk)

If applying for support from (a) or (b), early Registration is encouraged as the grants will start to be allocated in January, prior to the close of Registration.
