Dr Stephen Coombes, Nottingham (UK)
Dr Gabriel Lord, Heriot-Watt, (UK)

The meeting will be held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh (22 George Street). The workshop will start with Registration from 08.45 - 09.30 on Monday 21 March and finish at 12.30 on Wednesday 23 March.

In addition to invited speakers (see Scientific Programme & Participants) the schedule will allow for a number of poster presentations. Anyone interested in making such a presentation should complete Section 5 of the Registration form. The Organisers will select suitable presentations after the close of registration.

The goal of this workshop is to provide an overview of the current state of research in Mathematical Neuroscience both to those already working in the field and to those who are considering moving into it. The workshop will focus on neural networks and their properties. Several major themes will be addressed: (1) Oscillations, (2) Waves, (3) Patterns, (4) Development, and (5) Information Processing.

Registration closes on Monday 7 February 2005 and may close earlier if numbers exceed the capacity (around 60).

The meeting is supported by the EPSRC through the Mathematical Biomedical Network, London Mathematical Society, the ICIAM 99 Fund and the Leverhulme Trust Theoretical Neuroscience Network.
