Mathematical Geoscience for a sustainable future

Particularly of interest to the group are mathematical problems arising in Earth observation and environmental modelling. So, use of machine learning, extreme values, physical modelling, state space models, time series and change detection, propagation and handling of uncertainty and explainability of machine learning models are all in scope. The aim would be to provide a forum for discussions, seminars, and workshops on these themes with opportunities for researchers (particularly early career) to discuss and present problems and finished or unfinished work to prompt collaborative activity. Additionally we wish to engage with the local ecosystem of industry activity in this area, inviting industry partners to come along and share problems and discuss solutions in an informal setting.
