About:

What gaps can be prescribed in the spectra of large cubic graphs and how do these rigidify as planarity constraints such as fullerene structures, are imposed. The problem can be viewed as a constrained converse to Fekete's theorem about the distribution of galois conjugates of algebraic integers, and we highlight its relation to other such problems.Joint work with Alicia Kollar and Fan Wei.
