A Letter From Our Scientific Director, Paul Glendinning

In September my five year term as Scientific Director of ICMS comes to an end. This has not been the final year I would have wished for; we have all experienced personal challenges and extra professional demands.

ICMS Appoints New Director

ICMS is pleased to announce that Professor Minhyong Kim has been appointed as Director of the ICMS and Sir Edmund Whittaker Professor of Mathematical Sciences at both Heriot-Watt University and the University of Edinburgh, with effect from September 2021.

ICMS Supporting BMC-BAMC Glasgow 2021

ICMS are supporting the 2021 British Mathematical Colloquium (BMC) and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium (BAMC) from 6-9 April.

Paul Glendinning Named RSE Fellow

Professor Paul Glendinning, ICMS Scientific Director and professor of applied mathematics at the University of Manchester, has been announced as a 2021 Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE).

ICMS Awarded £5 Million

The funding is part of a £300 million Government investment in the Mathematical Sciences

Job: Director, International Centre for Mathematical Sciences

Following a major increase in funding, ICMS seeks a full-time Director. This new role will be an exciting opportunity to drive the expansion of the institute, as well as shape and develop its future direction. The successful applicant will concurrently hold the position of Director of the ICMS and a permanent Maxwell Institute professorship in mathematical sciences.

Christmas Closure
