The Insitutute of Maths and its Applications announced this week that Professor I David Abrahams, University of Cambridge, is to be the recipent of their prestigious Gold Medal awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to mathematics   Among all the many excellent things Professor Abrahams has achieved in his illustrious career one of them was to be the Scientific Director of ICMS 2012-2014. We are delighted for Professor Abrahams and send our congratulations.  The full citation can be found on the IMA website. Professor Abrahams will recieve the medal in 2025 at the IMA summer lecture.
