About:

Mathematics is key to driving progress in innovation and technology, as well as tackling some of the biggest issues our society faces. At King’s our scientists are developing advanced models and tools to generate new insights, optimise operations and efficiency, boost profitability and more, for business, industry and the public sector.

Join our inaugural industry day to hear from expert mathematicians and partners including EDF, Low Carbon Contracts Company and Synoptix. Aimed at industry and academics from King’s and other universities, the event will cover how King’s works with partners across a broad range of projects in industry, and how mathematics can improve your business outcomes.

Professor Veronica Bowman OBE, Principal Statistical Data Scientist at Paebbl, will deliver a keynote examining how mathematical modelling, data science, and analysis can contribute to decision-making while still ensuring accuracy, complexity, and rigour. This will be followed by talks from our academics and business partners.

You can then join our ‘Industry Needs and Research Opportunities’ workshops centred around Data Science, Banking and Finance, where you can discuss your business challenges with academics and colleagues from industry, helping to shape future research and collaboration projects.

Please select the workshop session you are interested in via the registration form.

Throughout the day there will be ample opportunities to network and lunch will be provided.
