National Call to Host the KE Hub for Mathematical Sciences

8 Apr 2025

The UK Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences (KE Hub) is seeking bids from UK university mathematical sciences departments to serve as its host from 1 January 2026.  The successful department will take over from the Isaac Newton Institute, University of Cambridge, which has overseen and administered its creation and operation since the KE Hub’s inception in 2023.

The new Host for the KE Hub will play a vital role in enabling success. As well as providing underpinning financial, HR, and IT functions, it will employ the KE Hub’s three-strong Professional Services Team. Representatives of the Host will be drawn in to the KE Hub’s Management Team and the KE Hub’s Board, and the Host will therefore contribute directly to the day-to-day operation, strategy, and direction of the KE Hub.

The Host department will work closely with the Scientific Director, Professor Chris Breward (University of Oxford) and the rest of the Management Team, the Executive Team, and the KE Hub Board. This is a unique opportunity for a university department to gain an important stake in a key part of the UK’s mathematical sciences infrastructure, and help grow and shape its future activities.

The closing date for applications is 1 July 2025. Full details of the call can be found here
