About:
The objective of this workshop was to discuss modelling approaches for rehabilitation pathways of paediatric patients with acquired brain injury (ABI), including methodological and practical aspects. This was a focused meeting between key academics and 10 NHS consultants.
Possible modelling approaches were discussed, as well as the data needed to translate the modelling into useful decision support that can impact patient outcomes. Healthcare institutions which provide rehabilitation services for paediatric ABI patients presented their data collection process and explained the data fields that are collected during the patients' trajectories within the institution, and then discussed a possible unified framework for data collection to support the design of decision support tools that are jointly conceived by mathematical modellers and clinicians.
