About:

This week-long UK-Japan Workshop on Nonlinear PDEs aims at fostering bonds and research collaborations between mathematicians in the UK and Japan who are working in the area of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). The workshop will focus on singularities and asymptotic pattern formation within three distinct but closely interconnected themes: Fluids, Chemotaxis, and Geometric PDEs. These areas have seen a surge in activity over the past decade, and the UK and Japan are leading the recent advancements.

Participation

A limited number of places remain available for Early Career Researchers and PhD students to participate in the workshop. Applications are closed and late applications will not be considered. Successful applicants, notified by the ICMS, will be required to pay a £150 registration fee. Limited funding is available for UK-based PhD students without alternative financial support (e.g., from Doctoral Training Awards) towards accommodation and travel costs.
